Mr Rachid Talbi Alami, President of the Organising Committee of the African Games Rabat 2019 (COJAR) as well as Minister of Youth and Sports proceeded to the official inauguration of the Games Village, in the presence of Mr Mustapha Berraf, President of the African National Olympic Committees Association and Mr Kamal Lahlou, Vice-President of the National Olympic Committee, on Friday 16 August 2019 at Rabat International University.
Thus, the Minister of Youth and Sports affirmed that the conditions are optimal for this edition to be successful, particularly as organising an event of this calibre in 6 months is a major challenge.
On the same occasion, the President of the Association of National Olympic Committees of Africa highlighted the importance of this sporting event at the continental level and congratulated the organizing committee of this edition for the efforts made to bring it to a successful conclusion.
Finally, the athletes have also expressed their satisfaction regarding the conveniences provided by the Games Village and the sports facilities it has at its disposal.
It should be reminded that nearly 4000 athletes from around 50 countries will be hosted in the African village from 16 August to 03 September 2019.
